    Re: Braid Flluorocarbon Coated?

Just purchased two boxes of P-Line CX Premium Fluorocarbon Coated, 12 lb line (0.0116: diameter), Hi-Vis Fluorescent Green, for use on a couple of spinning reels I use for fishing deep water jigs. Have no experience with this line, but sales pitch sounds good. Anyone have experience with it???

I don't like P-Line...too much memory...IMO!!!! Berkely or BPS has been much better for me...good luck with it though!!!

    Re: Braid

I have been using only mono until this fall when I put 60 lb braid on a couple reels for trolling saltwater,am satisfied with the results.About three weeks ago put 30 lb. braid on a couple baitcasters for throwing 1/8 oz. and smaller jigs for sauger, think it is better.Braid is a different animal than mono.It has no memory which is good.Am able to cast lighter baits with braid than would be possible with mono and you can feel a strike or a jig bouncing over the bottom much better. If you get hung up or loose a fish the braid seems to have a mind to come back at you hard and tie its self around the rod, have had to cut line on two occasions due to this.Backlash has not been a problem to get out using very light lures but I can see if you let a heavy plug or bait backlash your reel it may be imposable to get out.I am using a cheap brand from Hong Kong,my fishing buddy who uses braid all the time says it is as good as the branded line costing three times as much.Go ahead and give it a try.

Thanks guys.....I have about decided to try the stuff...... bought some of the conditioner in the spray can and it helps with the tangling problem but it seems to me it reduces your casting distance.

The P-Line CX Premium is awsome line for night fishing , but it isn't a true fluorocarbon , it is fluoro coated an not sure what that means but it does have stretch . But it is my choice for night fishing for you can see it under blacklight an it's pretty suple .

    Re: Braid

The only thing you need to be aware of with Braid out side of what the others has mentioned is the noise. When you reel it in on a spinning rod it makes a lot of noise that other lines don't make. You don't notice it on a bait caster but very loud on spinning rod.
Works good on spinning rod other than the few draw backs listed.

    Re: Braid

i think the fact that it is not pure flouro leads to the problems i spoke of...too much memory for me! i can see how that line would be useful at night though.

The P-Line CX Premium like Fishalltime mentioned is excellent under black light, it's like fishing with yarn when its lit up it is amazing how much it lights up compaired to others.
