shimano stradic,need help

i have a shimano stradic 1000mg-fb, and the drag will not tighten up, i am sure it it something simple, it is a new reel,i just do not know what to look for to fix it. thanks terry

Check the drag cap. If the drag will not tighten, the cap may be cracked from tightening it down too tight. Also, when you remove the cap, take a look at the threads in the cap. If they are stripped the drag will not tighten. If all else fails, contact Shimano. They are more than willing to help their customers.
