    what a day on cumberland

left home at 5:am this morning, and got back home at 6:45 pm. fished hard all day, never got a single bite. located some shad up whiteoak creek. but no action going on. talked with four more boats, their luck was like mine. two guys in one boat said all the way up fishing creek, the striper was feeding on the shad. but they could not get them to bit. in all i spoke with 5 other fishermen and myself made 6 and we all struck out. what a day. ps.. but i did see two beautiful eagles at the first turn up whiteoak.

Re: what a day on cumberland

Sunday was real tough, and Saturday wasn't much better.
Saturday I caught Ky's most of the day. After about 2:00 pm or so even most of that shut down. I managed 20 to 25 Spots for the day with most being small. Had about 8 or so over 12 inches to 14 inches. Two smallmouth both of them undersized fish. Two small largeheads. One TOAD come unbuttoned on a jig, don't know what it was but it had some shoulders. Had a largemouth about five pound try and committ suicide on a Spook but never could find a hook, lol. Highlight of Saturday was a 28 inch Striper caught in a little jump on topwater.

Sunday started good, had a 15 inch football brown fish in the first ten minutes, hadn't even started the big motor yet. Then several more some decent Ky's and the bite just died. I left early as Momma had me stuff to do at home Sunday afternoon.
I also saw a Bald Eagle near the Dam Sunday morning, way cool.

I hate this East wind lately!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I also saw the eagle down by the dam.. First one i have seen in a couple of years in that area. I also struck out yesterday. Fished from the dam all the way to the 76 falls area and nothing but one small mouth. We were showing what we thought were stripers and big schools of shad but couldnt get one to bite . But we did see a guide still fishing catch a couple so we tried the same but no luck there . We then went to throwing our bait up on the rock banks and caught alot of small ky's and small mouths.. I'm still tryin to figure out the striper. I usually catch alot this time of year but for some reason nothing this year.
