Congrats Rick.
Have been reading your posts for the last few weeks and you seem to have Dale Hollow SM nailed down. Some nice fish you have been catching. Congrats on that PB. Do you live on/near Dale Hollow or SLEEP IN YOU BOAT...HA...HA..Your fishing way to much....can't be good for your health...

Nice fish, nothing wrong with live bait for sure...Heck sometimes it's harder to catch the bait lol....Chuck
Well over 22"...WOW! That's nice for sure because I know for a fact how hard it is get one that's 21".
As for the live bait thing...shoot, catchin' is catchin'...it's all good in my opinion. But since we're on the topic of live bait I'd like to discuss it a bit. Some folks here have said at Dale there are times when artificial out produces live bait...I have a hard time believing this.
1. Live bait is in the water 100% of the time, working "naturally".
2. Live bait does not have down time being changed out for a different live bait.
3. Live bait does not take a break when a fella takes a wizz, fixes a sandwhich, lights a cigar or day dreams about life.
I guess if there's one artificial bait that comes close to live bait it would be the F-N-F???
But like Chuck said, sometimes live bait can be mighty slim pickens.
I live by the lake an keep a HB at the marina where I can pull bait. Its a lot of work, the night b4 I made pulls at midnight 4-5-6 AM, that in its self is a chore. Keep in mind I watch listen an talk to the guides here. They are the ones that keep me on fish.
Using livebait (shad) which is natural isnt a lock by any means, put that bait a few feet away from a contour change an its all over.
I cant always share a whole lot because the guides make there $ guiding Im sure you understand the rest. I have learned a lot from this site too. Good luck
Beautiful Brown Pig. My longest Smalljaw to Date came form the Holler. It was 22 and a half inches on the nose. I was somewhat let down though that it only weighed 5.3lb, which I have caught several Brown ones that weigh more than that, it was in June.
Anyway I digress, well done Rick a Hoss for sure buddy.
