Posted a few days ago for tips on taking my grandchildren fishing on Cumberland.Got several suggestions which all sounded good and plan to try most of them later.Bucketmouth10 suggested I take them to the ramp on Fishing Creek off Ferry Road and gave good directions on how to get there. He agreed to meet us there and bring minnows. The kid's mother gave me directions contradictory to his,we wound up at the wrong ramp. After waiting sometime he called, figured out where we were and lead us to the other ramp
with the nicest bucket of minnows anyone could want.Fishing started off good,I had a 3/32 oz.jig with 3" grub on one of my rigs, first cast undersized smallmouth.I laid my rig down and started rigging the kids with minnows and 1/8" oz.sinkers.The actions was good .The kids landed sever smallmouth just under sized.I stayed busy rigging bait, taking off fish, breaking off lines and rerigging for about 4 hours. Finally put on floats for them to save the rigs and they still caught fish.My wife who was also fishing was holding both hers and one of the kids poles hooked up on both at the same time, got one lost the other. Both kids said it was their best trip ever. For myself the fish caught on the first cast was the only one I got as it was a full time job keeping the other three going.
