No one has a problem with folks stating their opinions here. Whether I agree with you or not is not relevant. The point was that a few people on this board seem to go out of their way to express their opinions in way that is combative and derogatory to others. These threads were becoming more commonplace and pushing the limits of the board rules. These types of threads are unnecessary and detrimental to the board. If one speaks of a group of people in a degrogatory manner, then it automatically puts members of that group on the defensive and they are likely to respond in kind. Personally, I would much rather see open debate on various issues or current events. I might learn something about other sides of the issue that I have not considered.

In addition to the puppy, he also stated he was going to work on health care reform. They have been working on that. He stated that he wanted to engage the enemy in Afganistan and finish the job. Seems like they are doing that now. There are others. It seems that the biggest problem republicans have with him is that he has actually tried to do a lot of what he campained on. Have a problem with that? Fine. I dont like everything he has done either.

As far as the Bush bashing, check back through the threads. Compare how few there were bashing Bush compared to how regularily Obama and the dems are bashed here. I think you'll find that on the whole, the Bush bashing was rather tame in comparison to the liberal bashing that has become so common place here. Have a difference of opinion on something, fine, state it. However, the continuous antagonistic and combative posts get real old. Hard to have a friendly debate under those circumstances.

I agree with Andrew (apb). It is not always so much WHAT IS SAID it is the intensity with which the derision is heaped upon someone, in this case Obama, that makes it over the line. It is one thing to say that Fishermen lie but it is entirely a different matter and over the line when someone says:

"Grumpy LIED. He stood up at the weigh-in, in front of all those other fishermen and FLAT OUT LIED about catching a 10 pound Bass and losing it at the boat.......

He didn't stretch the truth.......he LIED...and he lies all the time about the fish he says he catches, but he never has any pictures or anyone else to verify it. Grumpy lies all the time about everything."

While someone may believe that Grumpy lies, I doubt very much if they would say the above to Grump's face, even if his fist wasn't cocked.
