Rich, I guess it's what you get used to and become comfortable with. I've had several Motor Guides and loved them. I had no problems with them at all. I now have a Minn Kota maxxum 80 and I can tell that it's a quality motor. I just can't seem to get completely comfortable with it. I've had it for over a year and use it often. Not like Dave but several times a month.
Anyway, I think they're both good motors and don't think you can go wrong with either.
