I don't know that they did that well on the fish, but the boat was working well!
Steven - here's what I put in the other thread, can't wait to see you this weekend and also fish in the next few weeks:
Thanks for all the help guys.
We launched at the dam at about 8:30 and the water was fairly clear and 52 degrees as advertised.
I had a great time fishing with my Dad, but I got skunked for the 2nd time in a row. Not a single fish for me.
Dad did catch a big smallmouth from a spot that Boone suggested (thanks!), but it was an odd one.
I measured this fish 2 times and weighed it 3 times and something just didn't make sense.
It was every bit of 22" long, but it only weighed 3lbs 8 oz. It seems like for that to be the case it would have had to be sickly looking, but this was a nice healthy looking fish. It wasn't overly fat, but it wasn't starving either. Maybe my scale is broken or my ruler is wrong. When I first got it in the net, I was going to guess 19".
In any case, Dad had fun catching it. He's now caughht just 2 smallmouth on the fly and they've both been 20"+
was there any action around indian on the stripes? last time i was up there caught 5 up the head of creek
glad to hear your dad got a good one since it doesnt seem he gets to go as much...wish the fish were a little more active....did you go up in indian and if so how far back...i have a few spots back in there that woulda been worth tryin
We didn't go any farther back than Grider Hill.
