Man that's a tough one so I'll pick two! First bluegrass. Good fish, close to home. I love running deep spinners and cranks there. 2nd the Ohio. Plenty of options on what to fish for. Most of all stripers. Live Shad and bounce the bottom.
Nice....it seems close to home is always key! I live 10 miles from Monroe...but really prefer wading local creeks throwing tubes for smallies or fishing farm ponds with worms and topwaters! The bigger lakes give me more of a sense of accomplishment after catching bass, but you can't beat a sure thing every once in a while!
#1 is the Ohio River from McAlpine down below Leavenworth, including all the feeders.
#2 are the watershed lakes in the Hoosier National Forestry in Perry Co.
#3 canoeing/wading Blue River.
Great idea ! Being in Evansville Bluegrass gets a nod of course but personal Ive fished stripper pits in Indiana all my life and Greene Sullivan has more pits than most any place around . Everything from Rainbow trout to Saugeyes at Sullivan lake make it a winner in my book . All you need is a small jon boat and your set . If you dont feel like driving that far and are tierd of the crowds at Bluegrass go a little futher up the highway to Oakland City's New Lake , a very good gill lake or Lynnville Park with all its twisty waterways or the pits in Sugar Ridge . Had to sell my bass boat this past spring due to lay-offs so these little pits have been a lifesaver for me . Now if the wife gets me that Revo STX & Kistler rod I hinted at for Christmas ..........
Happy Holidays all !
Waveland is the best lake in Indiana
I'd go with Hardy and Indian in the Hoosier National Forest. I'm a redear/bluegill fisherman, with heavy emphasis on the redear. It seems like those two lakes produce really nice redear for me. Glendale was my tops until this year, we went down there in October and I was disappointed with the overall size of the fish this year. I always fish on bottom with two straight lines and one cork over on it's side, using redworms.
I'd like to try Tipasaw in the Forestry and also Buffalo Trace out around Palmyra.
Patoka(Weekdays mostly) since I live between the 164 ramp and the lickFork ramp. Sugar Ridge, love the peace you have there plus great fishing. Indian in the HNF. Conservation club lake I belong to. Helmrick village lakes. Snakey Point. Private ponds. Ferdinand Forest. So much water, so little time.
Used to be Merom Power Plant Lake
Now, that's a sensitive subject, no I did not. I was pretty fired up about that for a while. I never got back out to bow-hunt after that (nor did I really want to, it hurt). Luckily, I had time to think about it at Fort Leonardwood, MO while I was down there for some training as I missed opening wkd of gun season.
I returned to the scene during the following wkd and saw 8 bucks and took down a decent 9 pointer on Saturday evening. It was nothing compared to the one I have been watching on camera for 4 years.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I have my camera's out now, so i'm hoping to run into him. HOPEFULLY he's still alive.
