    Next Week Cumberland Stripers

Got 2 virgins that I am bringing down from the nippy-north for a couple days of Striper fishing (Striper virgins that is, so don't get excited). Arrive late Saturday, fish Sunday and Monday. Will be staying at State Dock Resort, so most fishing in Caney, Greasy, and maybe a little in Wolf or that general area. Any hot tips you can share? Even smallmouths for when we get tired of Striper fishing....

stripers and shad have been up greasy and lilly at the heads of the creeks as far as you can go. casting doll flies usually hooking up pretty often. Work from the heads of creeks then move towards mouth of creek. The night bit has been good casting slivers

Early morning just after sun up they should be at the head of creeks for a couple hours, after that start moving out and look for them headed towards mouth 40-50' of water.
Should have a lot of fish down there, the other end of lake is pretty dirty so you should have a good supply of them on that end right now.
If the virgins are less experienced on fishing lures you can have them pitch live bait to them casting as well and they should get hooked up.
Good luck it has been good lately!
Like Sweett4u said doll flys with grub tails white/white works best for me color wise. Smack tackle Giz3 and Giz4 are working well also. Swim baits and top water have been less productive for me lately.

Green Pearl and White, I mostly use the Giz4 shallow because I can't cast a Giz3 far enough with 17-20lb line. One of the big things to do for me is stay as far away from the jumps as I can, so I stay back and cast in them and Giz3 does not get me there. Some days it does not matter as much but they will stay up longer if you stay away from them.

Hence the 20lb test as noted, I donated too many lures to the the striper gods using 15lb.
