Good News.......Jobs are finally being created.

The Federal gubment is creating about 10,000 jobs a month......

AND these jobs pay about 30,000 more then a comparable job in the private sector.

AND people making over 100K a year in gubment rose 19 percent over the last 18 months........WOW........salary growth during the WORSE recession in 50 years. THAT kind of growth could only happen in gubment.

THIS wasn't caused by the Obamunists, but they sure are NOT helping matters.

Heres my view about this:

In the past, govt. jobs paid lower than the private sector but gave much better benefits in health care, retirement, time off, etc. This was the "recruitment tool" needed to fill govt. jobs.

Now that health insurance is a major deduction in a private person's paycheck along with limited vacation time and no company paid pensions but only a weak 401K plan, the govt job is now the better way for people to work at a good wage and excellent benefits.

However, I oppose this "feeding at the trough" mentality. With the exception of law enforcement,firefighters, and our military, and some education employees the entire remaining govt workforce is a drain on the common taxpayer and we can do without 95% of them. There are a few other "essential" workers but let's not get too picky here.

Get rid of the paper shufflers and dead weight. I have to laugh when there's a snow storm in D.C. and they announce "All non-essential employees may go home." Why the hell do they have non-essential employees in the first place.!!!!!

Sure haven't seen any of those "Jobs" around here. Funny.but I thought the original bailout deal that put us in debt forever was supposed to help create jobs? Now the DEMwits are burning us for more $$$.

Thats shocking right there. Wonder if it was any of our stimulus money? Remember the campaign promise of we were going to rebuild bridges and roads??? Is this where that money goes first?

The only signs of stimulus money I have actually seen being used is on a road project over by U of L on Eastern Parkway. Someone was so proud of it they went and put up a big old ugly state looking roadway sign saying "This Project being Funded by The American Recovery Act" or something to this effect. Now that I think about it the sign itself was probably funded by the same pot of stimulus money.

Actually what George has posted here pretty much ticks me off (no offense to George).

Heck, I'm not proud, if you can't beat them, join them...So how does a fella go about getting one of these high paying low stress/no responsibility secure government jobs?

Creating them....yes.....but filling them is a different matter.

Part of the job creation numbers is as a result of Base Realignment. Example, 3500 new jobs created at Fort Knox when Personnel Command moves here, but same number is killed at the former location where it moved from. Net gain-----zero. Our government plays with their numbers pretty much the same way big business does. Armor School at Knox moves to Benning, and its time for the Benning Georgia Politicians to thump there chest about how many new jobs they created there.

Hey feds, want to really help the communities, and create jobs? How about pushing cash down to the state and city government level so they can hire more folks that every day do something for the people they live with.

How many new fed jobs of the thousands they say are created are in Washington DC? Who with have a brain wants to move there. OOOOps, sorry, most politicians have half brains and do want to end up there.

Go up to the OPM gov web job page and look at some of the job descriptions. They are often so detailed that a person with 30 years experience in a particular managament area, can easily be disqualifed because of not having experience on a new computer software package just introduced less that 3 months ago. Croonieism? Yepper. "Dave" just loaded the new software, has no idea what to do with it, has nothing else to offer, but he's my friend, so to upgrade his position, we add the new requirement, create the new job, increase the salary range and bingo buddy Dave gets more money for being just as much of a half wit as he always was. Not a grumble, or accussation, just what I saw way too often. And to be fair, there are also a heck of a lot of feds that work their tails off and earn way too little for the great jobs they do. Same goes at the state, county, and city levels.

But other than that I think it is a most positive and gratifying thing to see happening. Keep up the good work. 10,000 jobs a month created, in the prior 3 months, payroll job losses had averaged 135,000 a month. That means the Fed will take 13.5 months to grow back on average what was lost in one month. What's the total jobless now? 14 miliion? Sure about 5 million of that is the normal rate. So lets say 9 million, divided by 10,000 jobs created per month, means we ought to be doing okay about 900 months from now. Is that about 12 years from now?

Glad something is being done, better than nothing.
