Skeet Reese rods

You guys got me thinkin about getting this pole if my vendetta pole doesnt get covered by its warranty. (Seriously i got it April 8th they would be dicks not too cover it)

On ebay a guy is selling all of the McGill Skeet Reese rods for 85.xx plus 12 shipping... However he is open to best offer and offered to take 70 from me for the 7'2 worm/jig pole.

Funny enough after my vendetta pole breaks, I am forced to switch to my $35 BPS 6'6" graphite pole. Yesterday and Today I have caught a 2lber, 3lber and 3.5lber with the $35 dollar pole.

However, in defense of my broken pole that has caught just barely a 3lber one time in over a month, I finally figured out how to use a jig.

I use a couple vendetta rods and for jigs imo you need something else. The tips are wayyyy to stiff even the fast action. If you get a skeet you will notice a immediate improvement in feel and casting. And never use the vendetta for jigs again. While they are very nice rods and well put together they totally f'd up the action imo. Their fast action is much closer to a medium or med/hev imo. I only use mine on top water now cause of the tips. Even a lower end model st croix you can pick up for $100 and be much happier with it over the vendetta.

I dont exactly have an option on the whole "Never using vendetta for jigs again." I just sprang 80 for that Pole. I dont think I can use the "I need to spend another 90 for this one bait" arguement. Plus I only have one bait caster... not switching pole to pole for one bait... Itll get the job done for now.

What I might do is just take the new rod I get from Abu Garcia back to BPS and ask to exchange it for the Skeet Reese rod. I dont see the harm in that.

I like to have a couple rods that are "do all" Most of my rods are used for certain baits though. Two texas rig rods, a jig rod, a crankbait rod, spinnerbait, carolina rig, topwater, and two spinning rods for shakey heads and small hard baits. At special times I will change out a few, but mostly keep that set of nine rods on the boat. The carbonlite rods are really sweet. If I had the money I would switch out a few rods for them. I guess it is the weight that is so cool. The Skeet rods have done well so far, we will see how they hold up the rest of the season.
