    Question Crankbaits for Dale?

I am thinking of taking a trip to Dale Hollow Christmas weekend. What crankbait would you suggest for catching smallies on Dale?

I recomend the DT series.....go for the DT10 about now as most of the fish will be between 15-20 ft deep if your comfort zone is cranking. They are feeding upwards, but I can tell ya......its a slow bite on cranks right now. They are getting too cold to chase fast moving baits too far. The FnF IS the way to go bro. I know you might be sckeptical by your previous post, but it works, and works well. The money you spend on several cranks and other methods it could be redirected to a method that has proven time and time again to produce HEAVY smallies. It also brings you back to your childhood and watching that bobber go down knowing your arm will get wore out.

I have to agree ,the f-n-f is a fun way to catch a fish....be it bass or be it croppie... watching the bobber is a lot more relaxing than concentrating on detecting a line twitch as with other types of lures...most of the time the jig seems to out produce the minnow for me croppie fishing..

Luhr jensen hot lips express. I've had some luck with the smaller size in crawdad (red/black) color. Deeper Bandits in chartreuse rootbeer have also produced for me down there in the spring. The jig and fnf bite is probably where it's at though...

You cant forget about the BassMagnet! Great Crankbait if you can find them. I got ahold of 5 the other day. I would throw something in a natural color. Maybe a olive orange crankbait or a shad color or even bluegill color. Smallies like those bluegills 2! Dt series is a great crankbait also. Another crankbait to consider throwing is a rapala x-shad. They will get down to i think 10 or so feet and will suspend. To be truthful about it I wouldnt waste my time throwing a crankbait right now, grab your fnf rod clip a bobber on and go to casting and shakin. Then watch it sink out of sight and set the hook! FISH ON!
