gonna give it the ole try in the morning...probly fail alot, but need to get out there some more
i like to fish shallow in the winter.
nothing was a plus today...water was a whopping 39 degrees...it sucked pretty bad...got one nice one on early, had it comin up and then nothing. so then i stayed all day trying to recreate that...nothing...lol. one bite and lost it...oh well
Well.....Thats one more bite than I had...lol...water was 38.something and the fish seemed to be ganged up according to the graph but I never had a net that would reach 35' deep so came up empty...dropped everything I had that would go that deep but the fish just didn't seem to care...
I got seven small ones. Set the hook on a solid fish that just turned and got off. It beat sitting at the house though.
I didnt have a way to read it, I didnt bother taking the depth finder because I know this lake good enough. but it was low 40s last week, and today after a foot of snow melted into it I'd say upper 30s. Most of my fish came from one deep spot. They were nothing to brag about, all small.
Curious where you were fishing? Last Sunday on Cumberland had 49 and 50 degree water all day between the dam and entrance to beaver creek. Those temps are gonna change pretty fast im sure.
southern indiana...its cold up here...lol. if it was still 50, id still be catchin 5 and 6 lbers![]()
I kinda didnt think you were around very close or was creek fishin to have water in the 30s. I probally wont see 50 for a while now myself. I will keep trying until probally 44, maybe 42 if im bored to death.
