I have not been posting much this year, I have not been on the water very often. My wife of nearly thirty two years has been working on getting her degree in
recreation and tourism for three years this past year she has worked with the black bag tourny on Barren River I am proud to say it was a great success and she even won a scholarship for the work she did. She was able to raise over a thousand dollars for the tourny much of this was from folks who we contacted right here there were several so I will just thank them as a group they know who they are and most did not want to be made a fuss over, they did it for the sport and the program, silent heros, it has been a tough year for a lot of folks.
So to those who gave, and those who fished in the tourny the Red Cross really did and continues to need all the help they can get. This is Christmas week finds us as a nation with so many problems it seems there is no light at the end of the tunnel. Young men and women stand in harms way,all over the world wearing the uniforms that sets them apart as Heros. here at home police and firemen and women are doing the same. There are not enough words to say thanks to them. The folks who give out of their wallet or service to those who have lost work in the last few years are heroes too. We are truely challenged right now but in my heart I know that the light is not in a tunnel it is in the hearts of every American, we have faced bad times before and we always find our way back, so this holiday season try to give a little extra. In money or time or maybe pick up two turkeys at the store, and donate one. Keep God in your heart he goes by many names and I do not think what church or temple you pray in, he hears us and he will guide us through this. There is a poem about tracks in the sands of time where it seems like God's foot prints seem to disappear when we are faced with hard times, and then he shows us he was carrying us when we needed him most,I think he is carrying us thriugh these trials right now, so please help others when you can and you will rewarded in the end. From my family to yours we hope you have a blessed new year and God bless one and all, we hope to see you all on the water soon. Happy holidays keep your line tight and you tail dry and bring momma back a fish to fry!
Big Poppy,
Dennis, Shirley, and my girls all wish you a happy new year.
