Thumbs up Thanks for the Trolling Motor help

Just wanted to thank you all for helping me out with chosing a new trolling motor for my boat. Thanks to some good leads I found a trolling motor on Ebay that I was able to get a GREAT deal on! I got a 80lb MK Terrova with AP for $699. Hasn't arrived yet, but hopefully nothing is wrong with it! Was listed as brand new (never used) in open box. I pray everything is ok with it, if not, I payed with Paypal so I can get my money back. I'm pumped to get it on the boat and try it out. Thanks again everyone! Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Congrats on the TM ! That sounds like a great deal !!! You will swear it seems like you could pull a skier after you get it installed and use it! With 80 # thrust!

Seriously that motor has enough torque to throw you out of the boat if you have it at full power and the motor gets sideways!

Give us an update when it arrives!

Good going!!! Now the bad news, you'r not done yet. You will need to get the quick release motor mount, the copilot wireless wrist transmitter or the ipilot gps interface.

Seriously though the quick release mount is the way to go. I have the inexpensive one that will allow you to slide the motor off for storage and security. They sell at bass pro, cabellsa, amazon for around $35.00 to $40.00. There are some that are much more $$ but that base model will do everything you need.

I also have the copilot wireless control that is really handy, you can opperate the boat from anywhere without having to chase the foot pedal.

If you choose to go with the Ipilot wireless GPS control, you will not need the copilot. That gadget looks pretty cool, has a GPS built in to steer in programed tracks, use normally or anchoring the boat to a waypoint using the motor by not letting it drift from the waypoint. I may upgrade next year as I will have to save up the $399.00 for the Ipilot.

Has anyone out there used the Ipilot yet? and if so how do you like it?

I will definitely get that quick release motor mount, saw a couple at Gander Mountain here in BG. As for the co-pilot or Ipilot, I will have to let my wallet heal some more before I go for those!

Thanks again for all the help guys, you are welcome on my boat anyday!

You'll LOVE the autopilot for striper fishing,,,it is the best!
Buttt you need to save your money and get the co-pilot,, it really makes a great morning fishing relaxing. I bought mine used on ebay and it has been wonderful.

Have fun and keep us posted on the stripers, havent been out lately, but hope to go with this holiday's off work.
