I first fished lake cumberald in the fall of 1991, I fell in love with it. For two years I never even went to the hollow, even though the distances are the same. I lived in the chicago area of nothern indiana, the fishing was darn good, and I spent a lot of time in lower micigan and upper wisc, Its a blesing to go out here and not see hundreds of lake houses, retricted access, and in the summer crowds as thick as mosquitos. When we got married we knew that therewas a good chance we would be permanent baby sitters, so we started looking for a place to retire. My heart was set on the upper peninsula of michigan, but the agent that sells pro[perty could never get a hold of the guy who was selling what we wanted.Plus the wife was not a snow bunny. I went back a couple of years ago, that secluded lake, looks like a subdivision today. We foplks down here have it nice, you can find peace and quiet, and even catch a few fish now and then. Condos took over the beaches on the big lake, plus security issues closed other areas.Pray that they never sell the TVA to private development.Sure its crowded in the summer, but in late october its Gods country. Monday I saw two boats in six hours of fishing. So thank You COE, and TVA, keep this government owned.
