OK, I missed a doe with my muzzleloader(Traditions-Evolution 50 Cal). I am shooting 295 grain belted hollow point bullet with 100 grains of pyrodex. Was in a homemade tree stand and shooting on a down hill slope, not real steep. I aimed right at the kill zone, but I think the bullet dropped below her. She was about 70 yards away. Only deer I saw in three days of hunting that gave me a shot. I know I should have aimed about two inches down from the back of the deer and tried to hit a lung.
Is this correct when shooting a heavy bullet and sloping down hill?? Still kicking by butt!!!
You shot under her.
