I like Berkley 100% fluorocarbon for some applications, and have been using original Stren monofilament for others, but I am thinking of changing to a diffrent mono.

P line floro clear, the best I have found so far.
What about mono?
Haha I love it....I'll swear by BPS Excel all day long and I bet someone can't stand it.
My vote goes for Excel! It's cheap, good and I can change my line many times a year for pennies....did I mention it was cheap?![]()
My favorite all around line is Gamma Copolymer. Super strong, casts excellent, and extrememly durable.
On a very few set-ups, I use Flouro, and Seagar Invis-X is my favorite there. If I were fishing very clear lakes, or alot of deep water jigging, I would use Flouro more often - but here on Ky lake, the water never gets clear enough to really see the benefits of flouro. I do like it's sensitivity, but can really tell a noticeable difference on deeper jigging. I used to use all flouro, but it's biggest drawback is if there is the smallest knick in the line, it is has zero strenght. I fish alot of rocky areas here, and it can shred some line - so now I only use it on deeper (over 20 feet) jigs, and finnesse stuff.
DJD you're right. I tried BPS Excel in 20Lb. & broke off big fish in two tourneys in a row & now hate it.In my opinion it isn't abrasion resistant enough to fish rocks & timber. A buddy that I fish with a lot uses it & breaks off from time to time, but actually has pretty good luck with it. He however doesn't use as heavy of action rods as I do. Some say I got a bad spool. I don't know. I used to use Big Game Photochromic, but they quit making it. I finally settled on Suffix Elite after trying many different ones. It will however dig into itsself after getting hung & trying to pull it out, but I haven't broken off one time. Yes I probably set the hook to hard, but thats the way I've always been.
Spiderwire braid for the jungle and Stren 12Lb mono for jigging and cranking for me. As long as you check for frays in the line the Stren is hard to break. Spinning outfits I will go with 6 or 8lb test Stren mono.
you hit the nail on the head. i always buy the large spools and change line frequently. i also recommend the xps flouro. started using last year with no problems at all. as for braid i like suffix.
as you can see people like different lines the BEST ONE is the one that you are PLEASED WITH JMO

The only negative thing I can say about big game is the memory in the coldest part of winter. I can deal with that for the price. I'd still use it if the price doubled.
i would have to go with p-line fluoro clear for the all around best.it is a copolymer line and it is the best i have ever used and i have used just about every line out their. and if i use fluorocarbon i use either p-line halo or p-line 100% fluorocarbon. both are awsome and another key is i like to use the kvd lure and line conditioner i will spray some on a rag and when i line my reels i hold the line with the rag and let the line run through it,it helps coat the line and protect it. plus it helps with line memory. i use a line spoiler box and i spray the line wile its in their as well a few times. this stuff really helps and it will make any line perform better then the line just out of the box. but hands down go with any type of p-line.
