I think regardless of which side of the aisle you fall on, it is not half true, but completely true.

its an intimadating game for both teams and even though i look for KY to win i also look at as how many times has the worse of the two won the game ?? i look for cousin's to get into foul trouble fairly quick and louisville will more than likely press and have jerry smith and sosa on wall at all times wich will open the midddle up for patterson and other UK players. I am hoping U of L pulls it off but im also trying to be realistic about it.

    UK 82

    UofL 68

    Re: UK UL Point predictions??

Boys and girls, I'm tellin ya, this one has the potential to be EPIC.

There is the always dramatic story of Pitino coming back into Rupp and how he's going to be treated this year by UK fans....who will, in my opinion, trash up the joint with debauchery about Cypher and all that crap. I hope they don't, but they will. I would much rather see 24K fans turn their back and be dead silent when Pitino's name is announced instead, but that's a pipe dream.

There is this whole Rick vs Cal deal as two coaches with history as rivals, now coming together as in-state rivals in one of the most heated rivalries in college basketball. Yeah yeah, there's Duke/UNC, and it's equally rabid, but we know how UK/UL goes. And it is said that Cal and Rick don't exactly hold much fondness for each other anyway.

There is UK, at 14-0 with their best start in a long long time...new coach, all of the prime time expectations...the team doesn't want to lose and they want to prove that they are real...they want everyone to know who owns this state this year on the hardwood.

There is UL, who you KNOW is a little jealous of their in-state rivals success this year so far....they've heard all of the John Wall, Demarcus Cousins, Eric Bledsoe incoming freshmen hype....they've heard how they are little brother to the Big Blue Nation. You think Rick won't have them fired up as the underdog role? You think Siva won't want to prove that he's just as good as Wall? You think Knowles doesn't want to torch UK? Yes, yes, and yes. UL has more to prove than UK, in my opinion, as they haven't had the spotlight on them all year nationally. That makes them dangerous because of one little pivotal word in this matchup...one word that is so simple, but so huge...

    EMOTION.

It can only take you so far against better talent, but sometimes it can take you just far enough. How many times in this game has the "better team" walked out with a loss? I refuse to buy into the media predictions or the Vegas lines on this game - Can't do it.

    SO, my prediction...

Both teams come out fired up. Rick runs a dangerous press on the Cats, because his ego will override his brain telling him not to...with our handles we eat it up and take an early lead...Rick will adjust his defense, maybe run a token press, and settle in. Cousins gets in early foul trouble and sits much of the first half. Wall tries to force it a little too much. Someone in red will get hot from behind the arc and keep Louisville in it - UK's achiellies heel. We are fairly even at the half. Louisville comes out of the locker room with a run and takes a lead, UK fights back on the backs of Wall and Patterson...it's tight right down to the wire...and Louisville (yes, I said Louisville)...finds a way to pull this one out for the win, riding on emotion.

You heard it here first. It's an emotion game, and MrSplitshot, a true-blue card-carrying UK alumni and die-hard fan is predicting our first loss. I hope and pray to little 8-pound baby Jesus that I am completely wrong and we hang 100 on the dirty birds, but I suspect that I may be closer to right than wrong.

    Final Score
    UL - 74
    UK - 71

    Ugh.

    Prove me wrong blue!!!!!

I see this as a close game with the Cats pulling away in the end. Uk 71-59.

Over and under on blonde wigs in the stands is 20.

They don't have the talent to run the press against UK for very long. How many times does a match burn??? Twice....

Miller, Orton, and Dobson step up.

    Wall will be Wall

    Sosa will be Sosa

Smith will light it up downtown

Samuels and Cousins both foul out.

Patterson takes Jennings in and out of the woodshed. Folks keep forgetting about Patterson....

Pitino will be heckled worse than Happy Gilmore....But fans pay to be there. So who can tell them what they can or cannot chat, yell, scream, or hollar.

    UK wins....

But if UK wins MHall has to take me to Cumberland F-n-F'ing If Uof L wins I have to take him back to Elkhorn with Andrew during topwater season wading...

    Re: UK UL Point predictions??

The emotions running high and the fact that this is a rivalry will keep this game close for the first 10 minutes. Talent will take over after that, and in no way can UL run with Kentucky. This game will not be close for two different reason, #1 John Wall, stop him from scoring and he will break the record he already broke, and dish out 20 assists. #2 being the inside game, Samuels is soft, and can not handle and of Kentuckys bigs. Louisville fans better hope Patterson, Orton, and Cousins are all in foul trouble in the first half to have a fighting chance. Game time is getting closer, I cant wait!!!!!

[ and in no way can UL run with KY ]

please keep telling yourself that and ask yourself besides Wall what great experienced talent does UK have ????

I know the answer and it sure aint Cousins and Patterson. if Wall wasnt there UK fans would NOT be pumped up and so sure they were goingto WIN. everyone has U odf L counted out and thats the way I personaly like it. so,, if UofL has pulled some strings together and got on the same page with each other they will give UK a hell of a game and trust me when i say that both teams are intimadated bey each other. UofL can win this game and UK is NOT the BEST team in the NCAA

Posistion for position, I would not take any UL player over any Kentucky player.

I agree.....Folks are forgetting about Patterson. Heck some of these UofL fans must not pay any attention to Pitino when he gives an interview. He always talks about Patterson when asked about Ky....

I'll be glad when this game is over.

How is the best team in College basketball then???? Sure aint Duke, North Carolina, and I'm not sold at all with Kansas or Texas...I'm going to give Syracuse some credit.

We may not be the best in most folks eyes, but really who is??? I don't think we are either, but only one team IMHO is ahead of us and they are currently ranked behind us.

They're going to be ranked far behind us after they finish losing to an unranked Pitt at home this afternoon.
