It's kinda strange....I didn't like him when he coached UMASS....he was the enemy! LOL. He seemed cocky, unproven, greasy guido looking and all that. When he went pro I thought yep just another coach following the money even though it hardly ever works.
So he shows up at Memphis after a less than stellar NBA career and bam the program is becoming someone. Kids are graduating the school is mentioned in the big dance and so on.
Now here he is at KY and he is great at selling his agenda of these kids are his family. They come over to eat, his wife bakes brownies for the players and he wants them to succeed. I know he is selling himself and is comfortable in front of the camera....I like that it's a much needed change.
I'm kinda partial now since his son is in a few classes with my daughter...I told her to make sure we get invited over once in a while for the pool parties!
