    New Year's Eve

So what are you folks doing tonight ? We will be at the casino boat in Metropolis SHOUTING in the New Year with Otis Day and the Bus Boys (formerly Otis Day and the Knights) from Animal House....if you don't know who these guys are, you are just too young to appreciate good music...LOL.

    Re: New Year's Eve

Just staying at home cooking a nice dinner and watching a movie and/or whatever is on TV.

We keep it low key on New Year's. Unless we go somewhere to spend the night where we don't have to drive home, we stay in. No point in being on the roads tonight.

Maybe back in the day but the older I get the less hair I keep! Heck, I get a hard time from my buddies from liking Big Band music. So when I want to get them going I play it in the truck!

Dave, having spent 10 years in Japan (in three trips) I can attest to the preservative qualities of Kirin but I never did care for Saki.

Don, from a couple of your previous posts I figured you would like the menu.

    Re: New Year's Eve

My Japanese wife will be fixing Udon (long noodles for long life), Tuna Shashimi and some side dishes for dinner. I will probably go to bed about my normal time at 9 PM. Tomorrow for breakfast, she will fix "Seven Vegatable Ozoni and Mochii (Japanese soup and Ricecakes)" which is supposed to bring good health and happiness for the year. For dinner, she will fix Sukiyaki and Giyoza just because they are good to eat. Except for the year I was in Viet Nam, we have followed this ritual every year since 1970 and, thankfully, we are both happy and healthy (with a few minor aches and pains).

    Happy New Year to all,

    Grumpy
