I am going carp fishing more often. closer to home, cheap, relaxin and can enjoy a beer without spillin it
Im going to try to break 13lbs, had two opportunities this past year and both times I blew it. I seriously want to do this before I move to Texas.
13 pounds of what? I ate 13 pounds worth of food last night, and I'm hurting. Guess I'll go walk it off at the gun show.
13lbs of largemouth bass. It might sound ridiculous to some on here but I definately think its possible. I had 6 over 8lbs this year including one just shy of 11lbs. All in Kentcucky and from 3 different lakes. The biggest bass I ever had on was definately a teen fish that I got a very good look at this past summer. You cant imagine how powerful a bass that size can be, its like a totally different species. I renounced 17lb stren after losing that one![]()
im hoping to hit the 3 digit mark with a monster cat!
the big cat sounds good, i would feel blessed to catch one 1/2 the size you are gunning for. I have never fished the ohio river before, i have a daughter that lives just outside louisville. when her mother and me go to visit her, they go shopping and i just hang out at her house, by myself. i like seeing the pictures you and chuck post on here, of those big blue cats. and it got me to thinking, i'm going to take my boat with me. and while my wife and daughter do their thing, I'm going to try the ohio for a big blue cat. like i said i've never fished the ohio river before, so any of you big cat fishermen, that can tell me where a good spot to fish the river near louisville, and a tip or two on how to fish for the big blues. so my trip would be a good one. i would be greatful. send me a pm. with any tips, or a spot that you know that holds big cats. ps chuck sent me some info, on the how to, and the kind of bait. i wrote it down chuck, i will use it and i thank you.![]()
Going to try to get out of town more often and fish other lakes other than northern kentucky high pressured lakes. Also fish for blue gill and crappie one or two trips.
im going to spend more time on a small lake i was fishing on in september, october and november. i know this lake holds good size fish and good numbers as well. in the spring ive seen some female bass that look to be pushing 8-9 pounds but could not get them to bite and didnt really have the right equipment with me to try and fish live bluegill for them. Im hoping to really concentrate on finess and jig fishing as well. also planning on finally buying a decent used boat that is a little bigger and easier to fish out of then what i have.
Haven't fished Cumberland since the year before the first drawdown to work on the dam,am going to try it again this year.Never fish it or any other lake for stripers, will try for them.

Don't ever miss the opportunity to take a little one bluegill or croppie fishing if you have the opportunity and you are pretty sure you have a line on some fast fishing action (size absolutely does not matter) ....just be prepared to leave your fishing rod laying on the ground or on the floor of the boat ...We took a couple six year olds last year and that was the most enjoyable fishing experience of the year for me ...Be prepared also to get blamed if for some reason one of them go for a few minutes without catching a fish ( speaking from experience here) ..I started doing more croppie fishing myself last year and find it a good bit more relaxing than bass fishing ...As far as something new,I'll be 65 this year so if fate allows me to see the next new year and still be healthy enough to enjoy what I love to do then that's enough new for me...
