    Good idea?

I recently went to BPS and purchased a Revo S paired with one of their new CarbonLite rods. 6'9" MH. It came as a combo at $199. It feels very well balanced and was highly recommended by the sales associate. This is BY FAR the most money that I've ever spent on a rod and reel and was wondering if this was a good purchase in your alls eyes? I probably should have asked for your alls opinions before I bought it but I didn't so I'm asking now.

I dont know anything about your new rig but generally speaking you normally get what you pay for. I would say you got a goodun.

If you do not like it bps will take it back you will not know untill you fish with it. I always price out reel and rod seperate to see how much they cost. Usually the combo are cheaper. If you like it that is all that matters you will soon forget about price. I agree you get what you pay for.

    Re: Good idea?

I don't know anything about that particular rod and reel but I have bought several rods, reels and combos from BPS and I have been very pleased with all of them. From my experience, the sales people at the BPS are top notch and I have shopped in several of them. A couple of times up in the Clarksville store, I have had them point out a cheaper rod or reel as being better for what I was looking for then the one I was looking at. Something I like is that i have never been pressured into buying something, for that matter several times salesmen have asked me something like: You did say that you saw this on sale in the catalog (or on the Internet) and then would give me the sale price even though it wasn't on sale in the store. What I am trying to say, is that if the saleman recommended it, it is probably good.

You all just confirmed what I was thinking. I'm much more confident in my purchase now. Thanks for the input, guys.
