I agree with you, Magik.
My reply wasn't to start a pissing match, I assure you. I just wanted to point out a stereotype about the catch and keep guys being "unsportsman like" that just isn't true. I hear this same song every time people on here find out I keep bass to eat. If there weren't guys out there like me to keep some of these fish, the fish quality would suffer. Too much of a good thing is sometimes bad. I personally have never seen a replica mount I liked, so I don't buy them, I would rather have the real thing, and keep my local taxi-shops in business buy doing so.
I am sorry I derailed your thread, but I just didn't think your comment was appropriate or true at all.
I dont know that bigger lakes 1,000 acres plus need bass kept to help quality. I havent seen a decent sized lake yet that needed more bass kept. There are alot of catch and release lakes out there (not in Kentucky) that have great bass populations. If you want to keep bass no problem, but I dont think it is helping the lake any. Not unless it is 100acres or less. There are good replicas out there but not all of them are good.My reply wasn't to start a pissing match, I assure you. Everyone has their own thoughts about catch and release, but I for one don't kill big bass period. But I do know one thing...catch and release is for fish and not for criminals and terrorist.
Great fish.. I hope someday I get the opportunity to fish down there..congrats........Greg
.........here we go again.......![]()
Awsome fish! I'll be down on Kissimmee Friday, looks like it'll be cold down there. Releasing those giants is the reason we catch them. Ky needs more fishermen with the catch & release mindset.
Awesome Job... I hope to be going down in Feb....
Nice fish....On the whole catch and release thing to each his own , I couldnt count the number of four ,five and six pound smallies from Dale hallow I ve put into lake crisco over the years but that was a different time and place . ( Back in the day we fished for food and fun ) These days Im 97.5% catch and release and 100% on trophies......My .02
awesome fish! and on top water!!!! i would have had a heart attack!
