Kentucky lost to Marquette in the Elite 8 and UAB in the 2nd round ,those are the only CUSA teams to ever beat UK in the NCAA,we had no offense Tubby Smith then,Calipari at Kentucky is a whole new ballgame, but everyone can keep wishing and hoping for the worst.

U of L will make the tourney....They get plenty of practice the rest of the yr in thier conference. A lot of tough games for them. Barring injuries they'll get better....

    How about a UK/vs/U of L final 4 game???

That would be fine...U of L won the one and only TRUE "dream game" back in the 80's during this same scenario didn't they? That must have been a hard pill for UK fans to swallow cause it don't seem like they've got over it yet.

Without looking, was it the regional final 1983? I would have been 6 going on 7.

Nearly all the kids playing today weren't born the last time UL won an NCAA Championship,it's been that long and prospects aren't too good for the future.
Most Kentucky fans could care less about UL except for the one game a year, obviously as proven by the internet smear campaign,UL fans can't get over Kentucky.

See what I mean fella's...KYFANATIC still remembers it and apparently he's one of them that ain't got over it yet.

PSPROWLER - I don't remember the year, but I believe it was early 80's, 1983 sounds about right...it was back when I had hair on my head.

In all fairness to my fishin.com friends, I need to stop commenting on threads pertaining to sports, cause honestly I don't keep up with college or pro sports either one, except for the super bowl and even then I only watch it for the commercials, plus it gives me an excuse to eat junk food and drink beer. I guess all this insanely cold weather went to my head, sorry for stirring the pot here (maybe).

As usual, you take something completely different thread and turn it into a U of L bashing thread, and then try to use reverse psychology by trying to make it look like the Louisville fans started it. Once again, the proof is in the post above this one.

Also, Marquette knocked UK out of the torunament twice, once when Pitino was the coach at UK.

The original dream game was March 26, 1983 in Knoxville. I remember the date because it was my 16th birthday.

Here is the overtime period: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=21E5dojwdXY

That would be cool. I remember them making it in 1975 and they could have played for the title, but Louisville lost by one in overtime to UCLA. Interesting note about that game. Terry Howard shot 100% from the foul line that season. He gets fouled with a couple of seconds left and Louisville leading. He missed the front end of a one and one and UCLA scores to send the game into overtime, where they won. I was 8-years-old and cried about that miss. Fast forward many years later and I go to work writing for a sports magazine and who is one of the co-publishers? That's right, Terry Howard.

Yep same ole same ole, I guess he wants to start his usual riot and then either get in trouble with the Mods or attempt to get us to flame so we'll get in trouble. I'm not gonna do it, consider the source and move along.
