Ky lake end of march or in april

I was already concidering Guntersville in March so I think that's what I will go with. When in March is it the best time to go. Beginning or the end of the month? Where are the best places to stay? I have never been there. I have just heard of the rediculas numbers of fish in the lake. The fish should be in a late pre spawn and shallow. That's what I would expect anyway. Any truth to that.
