About Conoloway on Nolin......about how far back in there would you start? More near the mainlake, or further up the creek toward the head? Thanks for your help.any of the areas on those three lakes with timber or brush and 15-25 feet of water should be good. I haven't checked water levels, but conoloway is not a bad place to start on Nolin.
I heard Moutardier ramp was used leither ast weekend or week before, just a little ice. Can't be for sure now. I always fished verticle stickups at Taylorsville and did ok. I remember catching a couple dozen years ago on a cold January day 15-20 feet deep 1 mile from settlers trace on way to beech creek.

guess we are headed to old hickory to fish around the steam plant
tommorrow any suggestions???
seems o be the only place besides dale hollow that isnt frozen!!!!!!!
I'd try halfway, never really went to "backs" of any creek for anything until water temp hit 50s
now a flowing river channel is a different story...
Back when I was fishing hard, I had many a late winter trip where I skunked, but time on water was still enjoyable and let me keep my gear ready for the good days. The days you catch something are the most memorable. By presidents day in Feb, things will get better with longer daylight periods.
Looks like I'm going to give Cumberland a shot for a few hours on Saturday.
Good Fishin to you guys this weekend. For me, need to take care of the HOME FRONT & SAVE UP SOME STAMPS. Taking the wife for a little mini vacation. (Never heard of retired people taking vacation, but the wife says "it's the in thing")..beats me, but as long as I can go fish, then what ever keeps her smiling!!!
PS, If I was a fishing, then SM in the AM/PM (Indian/Beaver/Otter Creek) and a little "minnow/jig time" for crappie at mid morning (when the SM FNF bite fades away). Looking for your post with PICTURES.
BOBBER DOWN,
GARY
