Oh well, old too soon, smart to late!
I have been using the nettie pot for appx 5 years and believe it or not, it has cut down on the amount of sinus infections as last year I had 0. I use it at least twice weekly and during the summer immediately after mowing the yard. They will try to sell you some special salt but I have found that Sea Salt from Wally world works great. It will take some getting use to because its un-natural to pour water in your nose, but you will adjust and will definitely see some improvement in your sinus area. Just read and follow the instructions.

    Thumbs up Re: BUMMER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Be sure and post your impression of the nettie pot, but give it a few days. It might not open things up immediately.

I have used it the third time, and it seems to give some aid, will continue using it cause I could immediately feel some benefit. Heck I've spent 15 bucks on a lot of foolish fishing tackle many times!

My girlfriend has been down with something that sounds just like this, since last Thursday. She's been on antibiotics, steroids, and an inhaler since then, and is getting better, but it's slow going. Please don't take this wrong, but I'm almost glad to hear that other people have it, and it's something that's going around, not just something that hit her out of the blue.

Y'know, after discussing this thread with my g/f, we've decided to go on and take her back in. If you're not better, I hope you'll do the same.

Any thoughts and prayers would be appreciated.

Hey man wish your g/f all the best with that. What do they think it is? Is it the flu? Swine? Bird? Or whatever they come up with?

DJD Its an upper respitory virus.Does that work for you?Thats what my doctor told me, when I queeried her further she said the tech term is yer sick! This is similar to one that was around about 5 years ago. Over the counter measures are usless, and an injectable antibiotic is the first thing in knocking it out. The netie pot worked a little, but then the saline that was in the sinus would drain, and it made living hell.So now its a 1000ml of cipro, an albutural inhaler,a narcotic cough syrup, and musinex, and time. The emergency rooms are packed with folks getting the IV meds, and its contagious as heck. But I'm feeling good enough to resume smoking, why? My son who had heart proceedures just two weeks ago was admitted again with cardiac distress, So its back to coffee smokes and waiting for news.Got his call tonight, this was brought about by a medication problem. We were taking the same meds, and it was a wrong mixture, going to make an appointment with my cardio doc this week.

I haven't heard about that around here. We usually get it running through the office since we have alot of middle aged workers with kids here plus we work in schools and Hospitals everyday.
I hope to keep the dang thing away!! Don't feel the need to share.
    Hope you get better soon...
