We use to breed em but the wife got into a habit of fallin in love with one outta every litter and didn't want to sell em, so after figuring out what her plan was I stopped after his litter. That was because I wanted to avoid going to the poorhouse by having to spend all our incomes on dog food. lol We still have his mother and another female but breedings on hold....for now. I am sure my wife has been plotting behind my back to change that.

I was curious cause I have met a few folks who got their dog from the same breeder I did. AppleBlossom Labs in north KY....Good looking puppy dog!
I can't imagine having a litter of those little guys bouncing around. I would have a hard time selling all of them as well.

Cool...I see they like the couch! Hey is the one on the couch a "Dudley Lab" He has such pink eyes with no black pigment. Not sure if there are Albino labs? I'm curious? Very cool looking....

Oh no,,,,he`s a pitadour, he has some pit bull in him,,,but Lucy is full blooded. I don`t know if you all remember Steve Williams on here,,,My Blind retired police officer friend I took fishing all the time,,,well when he was dieing in the hospital,,,he asked me to take the dogs,,,they was his,,,,he knew i HAD JUST PUT DOWN MY 13 YR OLD YELLOW LAB so he knew I`d love them like my kids,,,which I do,,,not worth a **** for nothing,,,but wouldn`t take a million and just about kill over them..they my babys

Is there a specific male female color that makes chocolate labs?

No, any lab can have any color, However, This female has never had any black ones, our other female always put out all chocolates. It has alot to do with the bloodline of the breeding pair.

I was thinking I read somewhere that you can't get a litter with all three colors. Yellow and Blacks can be mixed in the litter but chocolates are always the color all the entire litter? Is that right?
I know like you guys have had is common but I guess I'm thinking chocolates are pretty unique in this respect?

It all depends on the genes. Our one female had just all chocolates. While the other had yellows and chocolates, you can get yellows from blacks and blacks from yellows. You can get chocolates from blacks or yellows and vice-versa. It all depends on what color genes the parents carry. But if both parents are yellow, the puppies are always yellow, never black or chocolate, if both parents are chocolate, you can get yellow or chocolate puppies but never black ones.
Blacks are the most common followed by the yellow and then the chocolate.
