best fiberglass wax????

Not sure where you are at, but in west KY, in the Grand Rivers area, a marina called Green Turtle Bay sells a brand of stuff I can't find anywhere else without ordering.

Collinite Wax

I worked at the Dry Stack at the marina, running the forklift, and waxing boats on slow days for side money during my high school summers. Collinite Wax is by far the best I've used, so much so that I use it on my truck too - it really lasts a long time!

There's a cleaner available too that preps the surface - it helps you get a good bond with the actual wax. With that one-two punch you'll have an amazing shine!

thanks, but ive talked myself out of wax since i tried a few types last year and it still oxodized horrible. since i have it buffed out now, i found some gelcoat sealer that is supposed to close off the pores so it cant oxidize anymore. gonna give that a try first

Just reading your thread and if I were you I would call a fiberglass man and ask him what you can do to it. I don't know where you are at but there is a man in Jeffersonville indiana by the name of Guy Voyles that owns American Boat and Yaht that is the best. You can call him @ 502-314-6347. He can fix you right up. If you ever go to the Louisville boat show he always has a booth there.

well, that was interesting. he told me it will never last unless i bring it to him and use his stuff. he said he wont sell the compounds unless he does it. he asked what i was using and then said, no that wont work. as i was asking how much it would cost to fix, he said good luck to you and hung up...hmmm. i think ill fish out of a dull boat
