This whole week has been a waste of life. I have never been this sick for as long as I can remember, with out being hosplized.Nose constantly running, cant lay down with out coughing, and have coughed so much all of my body aches.It feels like I have blown a 55 gallon barrel of mucus out of my nose. And nothing is stopping it! Have been living on tylenol,corricidin, and robitusin, I use the cougth syrup to wash down the mucinex and tylenol.How did this happen? My companion needs to go to the hospital twice a wwk for a procrit shot, and she says the emergency rooms are packed, she caught it first, and passed it to me.She was a nurse, wore a mask, washed her hands,but what ever it is, its catchy.If I live through this looks like next week will be fishable finally.

Time will probably cure all that ails you, but a nettie pot, salt and warm water to flush your nose and sinus cavity might help the runny nose. Use it morning and night. If you have never heard of them Walmart sells them and you can goggle for more info. Good Luck.

Feel for ya....my daughter-in-law and I both came back from our family trip to Fla in December with this....took about 2 weeks to get over it...both of us had to take antibiotics to finally get over it.

thanks for the encouragement, got an appointment monday for the doc, going to see what that nettie pot thing is, my friend says she has heard they work for some sinus conditions.

sorry to hear. My daughter missed 4 weeks of school before Thanksgiving. I had the infection and never ending cough thing and it took 6 weeks to get past it, ended up needing adavair which is for asthma, I think. Take care.

Gentlemen, thanks again, I'm going to walgreens as soon as my coffee is done, that netie pot thing sounds like it was tailor made for me, have had blocked sinuses ever since I moved here. I have used the salt water before, ansd it helped.After asking my companion about it, she says she didn't tell me because I'm the worlds worst sceptic concerning health problems. Oh well, old too soon, smart to late!

I have been using the nettie pot for appx 5 years and believe it or not, it has cut down on the amount of sinus infections as last year I had 0. I use it at least twice weekly and during the summer immediately after mowing the yard. They will try to sell you some special salt but I have found that Sea Salt from Wally world works great. It will take some getting use to because its un-natural to pour water in your nose, but you will adjust and will definitely see some improvement in your sinus area. Just read and follow the instructions.

Be sure and post your impression of the nettie pot, but give it a few days. It might not open things up immediately.

I have used it the third time, and it seems to give some aid, will continue using it cause I could immediately feel some benefit. Heck I've spent 15 bucks on a lot of foolish fishing tackle many times!

Seen my doctor yesterday.Shot of antibiotics, prescrption for more inhaler, and cough syrup.Was told if not better by friday, go in for I(V antibiotics.This thing is pretty wide spread, talked to a guy in utah, and he says a lot of his friends have also recieved the same terweatment and advice.

My girlfriend has been down with something that sounds just like this, since last Thursday. She's been on antibiotics, steroids, and an inhaler since then, and is getting better, but it's slow going. Please don't take this wrong, but I'm almost glad to hear that other people have it, and it's something that's going around, not just something that hit her out of the blue.

Y'know, after discussing this thread with my g/f, we've decided to go on and take her back in. If you're not better, I hope you'll do the same.
