Lots of good info and concern on here. I fished alone for many years on
Cumberland night and day. Out on Lake in front of boat throwing for bait. Looking back took lots of risks but was lucky . Sold home this past Summer so won't be there as much. Will be looking at New Adventures. Will let Wife and a friend on here know when I do go out.
Good Fishing Everyone !!!
I fish by myself quite a bit, at least I used to before the past couple of years and more serious medical stuff. I have ATT cell service for my family because 99% of those I talk to the most has ATT and with calls free to and from ATT, then we have never had additional charges. But, it does not work on Dale so I have a pay ad you go Verizon phone that I take with me on my Dale trips. You can get these at Wal Mart for $50, which includes like $15 in airtime. Then you pick what calling plan you want. I took the $3.99 per day plan, which is if I make a call after midnight then it cost $3.99 unlimited for the whole day. If I don't make a call it cost me nothing for the day. By doing this I have found I have Cell service pretty much everywhere I fish very economically.
I don't tell my wife where I launch from daily, which I should. I just make sure I leave early enough to take it slow and easy to launch, especially on the winter with slippery conditions. It is worth losing the 15 minutes of sleep to launch safely. I am conscious to make sure to keep the boat un-cluttered so to not trip on anything.
