They are legit. A couple years ago when you bought a new Ranger boat they would give you 3 new Loomis GLX rods. I think the only choice they gave you was the 6'8" MH and 7"5" H GLX.could someone look at this G Loomis GLX on eBay and tell me if it looks legit, I have never seen the GLX Ranger ???

There were 4 rods, with the Ranger name, 3 bass rods and a spin jig. If you bought a new boat during the promotion time period you got the choice of two rods free with the boat. If you wanted the other two or just one you could purchase for $80.00 off or retail price.
Warranty was the same as G-Loomis then but a little iffy now.
Stiffness + Lightness = Sensitivity
A Loomis GLX or a St. Croix Legend Factory jig rod will be sensitive.
Remove the factory guides and replace them with a well chosen set of guides and you will have more sensitive rods because you made the rod lighter. You can't do a thing about stiffness but you can sure improve the the weight. I just removed the factory guides on a 10 year old Loomis and put a new set of guides on. Quite a difference. The complete set of new guides weighed about the same as one of the old guides I removed. This is a fact as I have weighed them myself. This also moves the balance point more toward the rear of the rod as well as reduces wind casting resistance.
