Printers--I have always used HP and they have all been great. I would say any Hp is good. Probably don't need to spend much. consider one with a scanner -it also can make copies--comes in handy.

All the reports I have read say Windows 7 is good. A lot of folks and corps. by passed Vista because it was supposed to be now so good. As a rule I wait at least 12 months after software comes out to purchase it--by then most of the problems are fixed. Good luck.

My daughter bought a mac. I was on the hook to buy a computer for college and Itold her if she bought a mac she was on her own and I would not be abe to help her if she had any problems. There is a situation where a Mac is less expensive than a pc.
