We'll now know where some of the money that should be for F&W will be going....to their defense fund.
Amen brother. The KDFWR does a heck of a job and the men and the women in the field work hard and I appreciate all they do. I agree with Jim on telecheck and I do not like it for many reasons. I do not want to get into a pissing match with anybody about it either because there are alot of guys on this site that think it's the greatest thing since Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream. I was on good standing with the former Oldham County Game warden Glenn Watson. He was a good guy some didn't like him because he did his job and busted some chops. I thought he was a good one myself and he helped me several times. He retired early because of alot of BS in the department that I will not elaborate on. Jim is a good guy and he is looking out for the Sportsman and our fish and wildlife's best interest. Trust me when I say there is alot that goes on in the department especially at a high level that ain't all peaches and cream.Strader Show, like a lot of them, are victims of the economy and greed. Strader Show was excellent the first years, full of neat stuff, and packed to the gills. Convention Center downtown, just like the Fairgrounds with the Boat Show, raised the rental rate by 31%. A lot of vendors cannot afford to pay those kind of rates, especially when people don't spend money, attendance goes down, etc, etc. A lot of vendors used to hit all the shows when times were good. I talked to a vendor at the Boat Show from Canada and he said he used to hit 12-15 shows every winter, now he only does 6.
Whether you like him or not, Strader has raised a lot of good solid questions about how our money is being spent by the F & W Dept and he is backed by a lot of retired Officers and Administrators. Go to straderexpo.com and read the complain that got filed. Interesting stuff.
This thread is being moved to the Off Topics Board...because it has turned into a political discussion about the lawsuit and KDFW....bottom line, the show is cancelled...political discussions do not belong on the Fishing Boards.
Good Move Dave, thought this was BEAT TO DEATH IN PAST POST!!!![]()
I don't think so Boone...I read his Jim's lawsuit file on his web page only once...and it was just as I thought. Individuals abusing their power when elected to a public office....abusing those who stand up and verbalize a position that brings things "out in the light". I can tell you that Jim will stand up for the little guy; he is the epitomy of a stand up guy!...When he sees improprieties with our rights... and government unfair practicies, and unfair polices...especially if they affect those that pay to enjoy the outdoors. Jim is right on here....and it does affect the fishermen..the hunters of Ky. and we all should take note on this. I know there are great individuals working for the Ky. Fish and wildlife Dept. I've met just a few really.....but so is Jim! I met Jim many times...been on his radio show a few times, and worked side by side at the show once ...but I knew him long before he knew me. Im a Therapist, still going strong..... I was doing some therapy with a small elderly gentlemen some 20 years ago.... This patient was recovering from surgery...it was going to take weeks...maybe months for a possible slow recovery for this individual, dependeing on how hard this individual would work at it. This patient kept telling me that his best friend was going to join us for therapy today...and sure enough...in walked Jim S....I really didn't know who Jim was then, nor did it matter. But everyday...Jim would find the time to visit with his best friend, during his therapy, to be a "motivational coach" you would say...for his best friend...it was like clock work. In over 24 years of working in the health care seetings doing therapy...I've never seen an individual..be so consistant, so commeted to his friend... helping his best friend in time of need...in time for his therapy...I'll never forget that...
Nice story demodan
