Nuclear Missiles / the big question

Is it just me...or Im I just going nuts over this issue.
I was all for going to "war" with Iraq...At one time, they did have weapons of mass distruction...they used it in an area that killed over 5,500 people...mostly wemon and children. They just put to death the General that lead the operation..chemical Ali. We thought 9-11 was the worst thing that has ever happened...but almost twicw the amount of lives were lost that night in the Kurdistan Region in Iraq; and the death was very visable to all in the world. The pictures in the Times were just top much to even look at. The numbers...to me, don't matter...the fact was they had them (Chemical war agents), that could kill in the thousands in just a matter of minitues. Now what ever happened to the chemical war agents is anybodys guess, but the fact that they did have them...and was willing to use them on ordinary people...was just to much for me to even grasp really. They had plenty of time to truck them anywhere..Sadam said the burned them all away in the desert??? I bet they were sold or given to Iran..
Now...we have North Korea, and Iran with ....first the North...they do have nukes..some say around 10-20 as I write this, this could cause great damage...could lead to over a million dead in 24 hours...28 thousand could be American Service men and wemon in the South exposed. Yet we are...once again we are sleeping and sitting on our hands. I know an pre-imptive strike on the North...with all on our plate now...would be most unpopluar...and I also realize that North Korea...isn't Iraq...or even Iran for that matter. If anybody has ever read the book "At dawn we slept"...about Pearl Harbor...We all know what we learned from that mistake...our administration wouldn't face the facts that the Imperial Japanesse was wanting war with us...they wanted to break are backs...they wanted to catch us asleep at the wheel....But the leadership of our counrty did step up...little to late for the men and wemon on the Arizona...and others. My mother lost three of her 6 brothers in the war...
I can remember that even the thought of North Korea having nukes was going to be all she wrote...and that we would do something about it right then and there! Now look at what we facing today!!!!....Do we have to wait for the "brick in the face" first...or do we act now? You all see where Im coming from. I think about all our problems as a county...issues of the day...Don't ask...Don't tell crap....the real issues in nukes...and in the hands of crazy individuals...such as these two countries and the individuals who operate the controls...it's just to much...we need to act....NATO needs to act....before we are left with a million deaths....

Well ...maybe it is just me...Im sure there are those in our Gov. / military, that are keeping an eye on things; and are concern just as myself. And Im sure we have plans for defense... if we have to.
It's just like today...Iran shot a missle into outer-space...with animals on board (a first for them). And Im all for countries to better themselves..and improve technology steps for their people. Im just a little paranoid about a country that continues to make statements by their leaders that they are bound to destroy another country....
Our Gov., said they were very concerned over these rocket launches today....well heck yea we better be concerned....but that is all we are going to hear.
Maybe...as a country...we can't risk a preimtive strikes on North Korea...or Iran...or Syria...maybe we just have to wait ....Im just not up for waiting anymore...I think we should take very affirmative action with a huge hammer...and anybody that stands in the way...will get a piece of the hammer. I'd rather take them on...on our terms..instead of waiting for their terms...again...just an isssue we all wish would go away...slide it under the rug... I don't have the attitude that "if America is good to all coutries"...they all will come around with peace on the table for us. ... ain't happening.

I agree that regardless of what it looks like we need to be the world police when it comes to new radical countries getting a handle on this devastating weapon technology.
Heck we already give people money, weapons and whatever else we can to try and be the big brother to them at one time or another.
It's a touchy subject but I like the way you put it...I want to address on our terms not theirs.

Ronald Reagan said: "Of the four wars fought in my lifetime, none came about because the U.S. was too strong!"
