After hours of web pages for boat makers that don't know how to take pictures, that put the wrong pictures with their products, and don't bother to answer when you ask a question, I've decided on what to do about a new boat.
I'm gonna buy a 68 VW minbus, cut the frame off and keep the body, clean everything off the deck of the pontoon, and bolt the bug body to it. Then the 200 Verado is gonna replace the current 75 Merc. I'll be able to sit 6 or sleep 4, will have rollup windows, a wiper, a heater, a radio, and real live doors, and still have room to keep clothes and fishing tackle locked up when I dock.
I figure its the only way to get an aluminum boat that is fast, keeps you out of the wind, doesn't require you to put tops up and down, and doesn't cost in excess of 2 years base pay.
The alternative, If I can't find a bug bus: 20 foot flatbottom jon boat and a Chevy pickup's aluminum bed cap.
I give up!
