I hope not...Maybe we should call Burksville and see if they are still on the map![]()
Oh, I just noted, you are in Burksville so all must be well, unless you are posting from a LIFE RAFT.....he...he.
COE web site data has contained errors in the past and I suspect this is just another one of those (typo's?)...See attached COE graph of Lake Level and Discharge Flow:..http://www.orn.usace.army.mil/hh/resplots/wol.gif...

I live ~ 10 miles from the dam, so think I'll just take a drive over there. Will post later on what I see.
Friday at 3:00 pm: Just got back. Water level below Wolf Creek Dam does not look to be significantly higher then what I observed this past Wednesday (based upon level at observed landmarks). I would expect it to be MUCH higher if they were discharging 80,000. So, still question the COE report of 80,000.
River at Burksville is at 43 feet (COE data) which is up 3 feet from the NOMINAL of 40 feet, where it has been from January 26 to present. http://www2.mvr.usace.army.mil/Water...&dt=S&pcode=HG

3:45 pm....Just checked COE Wolf Creek Data. Looks like they have CORRECTED THEIR ERROR. They are now reporting a discharge of 23,740 cubic feet/second. Whew...

This link shows the graph but also gives hourly data below it. Things have been holding steady at 23,740.

I was on the river this past Wed, the 3rd, River very high at the Dam. Looked like 6 gates running with 3 sluce gate's open. Tried to get to the dam, but the water was way to rough. Seen lots of birds feeding up at the dam, so my dumb butt had to try to get up close and see what a blade bait would do, and only one trip running up close was all I dare try. Fished the creeks from the dam to Helms Landing, Nothing. Still nice to be one the river and let it show me a who is boss, again. Did notice that about dark the parking lot was filling up with bank fisherman. Maybe next time I will leave the boat at home.
