    Re: Ouija Board

I was working in Berea College years ago at one of the old Dorms. I was the last one there and had to call a Contractor before I left, anyway...I had to be outside to make the call since the reception stunk in the basement.

The guy says your there by yourself? I say yeah someone has to work and he mentions that this place was a big Witches den or something along time ago and asked if I saw the Pentagrams on the walls in the basement. I laugh it off and tell him to shut up and he wears me out with the stories of noises and weird happenings in the place.

Once off the phone I thought ok all I have to do is go down there and get my laptop and shut some panels down should take 10 minutes at the most.....that was the longest 10 minutes I ever had!! It really sukked...

Everytime I heard a noise I jumped and felt like something was on its way to get me. LOL I don't know why I let it get to me but it did. You can work yourself up!

I believe that some people are open to the "power of suggestion." I'm not saying you are but I know people who can hear a story about a horrible tragedy, murder, or other things and it sets their imagination into overdrive.

I don't believe Ouija boards have anymore power than a piece of cardboard and a handful of buttons; both are only objects and if you focus on either long enough, you can imagine anything.

Several years ago I was walking down a path to the spring at Andrew Jackson's home and noticed that I was the only person walking down that path. An older woman yelled across the lawn at me and said, "You don't want to go down to that spring, President Jackson killed a slave down there; it's haunted." I stopped and asked her if the body had been removed and if the investigators were still on the scene. She stood there in stone silence looking at me. I said, "Guess not," and walked on down the hill. I didn't see or hear anything but the largest, clearest, natural spring of water I have ever seen.

    Re: Ouija Board

I am a non believer in ghosts and the effects of Ouiji boards. The people playing with them move that glassy thing around. I see them the same as crystal balls and tarrot cards and tea leaves readings. Just entertainment value. But growing up I stayed far away from them as I thought they had connections to the devil and witches. To me, going on a Ouiji board was like calling the devil up to join you. It was evil. Scared the crap outta me for sure.
