I agree with this statement, except that I'd like to rephrase it....Washington is still spending money that WE don't have. It's my money, your money, Don's money, etc...and the more I learn about how the money gets spent and where the money REALLY ends up going to, the more ticked off I get.
Question - Is there anything WE can do about it? I mean honestly...is there really anything that we can do about it? A letter to a congressman isn't the answer I don't think, I think this issue is beyond writing letters.
"I think this issue is beyond writing letters."
Chub, you are right, we have to get more people to VOTE. And, those that vote need to know who the big spenders are IN BOTH PARTIES and vote them out. And that is MOST OF THEM right now.
The Tea Party movement is trying to show that. I have been to a couple of their meetings in Hardin County and I think they are on the right track--I just hope they don't get sidetracked and try to make themselves into a third party. I don't think that will work, they need to try to get candidates IN BOTH PARTIES that will go for less spending, less government, and less regulation.

I agree just keep spreading the message. I would like to see another party have a fair chance but they don't so if it takes the people to get these candidates really concerned about what they say and how they perform in office then we are on the right track. I mean any office.
Right now they say anything and do what they want or have to do in order to keep the special interests on their parties side.
Get people to realize that we can get out of this mess if we had politicians who worked for us, not just talk...Teach them by showing how it was done before and also how this present approach didn't work before. Make it easy for them to see and understand.
Both parties have sold us out for way too long. Anyone who has backed the (Mortgage) programs that have destroyed our economy should be fired. Make these people accountable.

I have been to two Tea Parties. You have hit the nail on the head. The GOP does not like Rand Paul because he does not agree with all of the crap."I think this issue is beyond writing letters."

I saw him speak in Brownsville where he said that he did not know any Republicans that were for the stimulus but when it came to a vote in D.C. most all of the elected Republican leaders voted for the stimulus. That should tell us something.
The fact that the GOP gave Rand Paul's opponent campaign money and did not support him should also tell us something.
Vote RAND PAUL
