    Re: Jet Drive ???

I have a G3 1756 CCT DLX ( center concole tunnel deluxe) on order. My friend that we fish the river together all the time had a jet and yes they are fun to drive I would love to buy a 115 4stroke yahama jet but 415pounds is too much. So I will look at a 90. What do you all think thanks. If you see me on the river say hi.

    I have a G3 1860 CCJDLX with a 90/65 that does great with 2-3 people in it.
If I have a heavy person in the rear, It takes a little longer to get up on plane.

When I first got it. I thought this thing runs too fast for the river. Now after getting used to it. I would like to have MORE POWER ! If it were not for the extra weight.

You will be Very HAPPY with that motor on a 1756 !!!

    What color did you order???

The color is tan or off white I did that so it would not be as hot as a dark color. I hope that I like it too. I should have it in a week or two by then I hope the river is lower I hope.

I have a 20' Sea Ark bay boat with a 115 /80 horse Yamaha with jet drive and I am very pleased with the rig. I fish Ky Lake,Dale,Cumberland lake and river. I did lose a lower unit on my old bass boat at Ky lake one time, Hit a peace of barge rope at 60 mph, now I dont worry about lower units. It is hard to drive a straight line at slow speed to load, and the fuel mileage is not as good, and noise is louder, but I bought this rig on E Bay and got a bargan and I'm not in a hurry any more. Sounds like a nice boat ! Yours must be a 2 Stroke huh ? I think they are quite a bit louder than the 4 strokes !

How shallow have you had her !

No it,s a four stroke. I,ve run it on plane in about 10" of water,I just get reel tight feeling on CR with the water so clear and 3 foot of water looks like 10", just look at flasher and keep on trucking. I think the noise factor is due to there is a jackplate, and the water pickup is only 1 1/2"below the hull,so when on plane the exhaust is high and dry. I fish Ky Lake the most, and camp at LBL and have had trouble in the winter and early spring with other boats following me across the shallow flats at winter pool and seeing them run aground. When I go back to help them they can,t understand why there boat is smaller and can,t go where I go. Dave

Oh Man ! That ***** for the little props following you huh ? you must have a straight hull in the rear if your motor has to go below the Hull that far. My motor is above the bottom of the hull. With a small tunnel cut in the hull to let water up to the jet intake. It's called a Tunnel Hull . And mine is a 4 stroke. But I do not think it is that loud. Maybe cause all the noise is behind me ! LOL

Rockfish it,s a big flat bottom, 20' x 8' 32"sides. I thank we know each other, thank we met at Bill,s boat barn a few years ago. Haven,t been down to the river for over a year, need to check on Bill. I have used tunnel hulls with jets in Alaska and they are the way to go. I'll be coming down that way next week if this snow ever stops. Save a few strippers for me , good luck. Dave

Bob; I got my SeaArk off of Ebay, The boat had 4 hours on the engine and the rig was set up with trolling mtr, GPS,electric anchor, charger system, custom cover, boat buckles,Gal.trailer. The boat is 20'1" Bay Boat When I saw the unit on E bay I didnt really want the jet drive,I fish the cumberland river some but I really liked the boat. I,ve had the boat for 8 years and really like it. I fish Ky Lake over a 100 days a year and for me its the best boat I,ve ever owned. It,s not very fast, but it handles the rough water better than any thing I,ve ever fished in. I don,t know where any dealers are I,ve had no problems. Dave.

Dave, Thanks for the info. Dealer I know of is S&S Marine, in New Albany IN, just a couple miles down from the I-64 Sherman Minton Bridge.
