    Re: Snow

Driving to work in Oldham County this morning was rough! I have a little car with summer tires on it and a very tourqey engine and driving through this mess is all but impossible!

The Louisville Airport must be under a roof because at 1:30PM, their official total was 3.9".

I think people sometimes go out and put a ruler in the deepest drift they can find and call that the total.

Michael I can assure you I know how to measure snow. The NWS didn't get squat, but we got hammered. I have been shoveling and or riding a tractor since 4:45am this morning and I just came in the house I'm exhausted. Give me your e-mail and I'll send you a pick of my picnic table in the backyard it's a BUNCH of snow. Best I can tell here in Buckner we got about 8 inches maybe a fuzz more and it's still frickin snowing lightly. Read Belski's blog about some of these totals around here........ my back ain't hurting right now from some 3 or 4 inch snow, lol.

Come on down I'll pay your gas money and you can help me shovel some more tomorrow, our shop is buried. I've got snow piles I made with a front loader that are 8 feet high and thirty feet in circumfrance.

Check out the Cochras official way to measure snowfall......you have to collect in a test tube, melt and measure. I'm thinking just stick a ruler in a consistent spot and there you have it. I just got done shoveling our 200+ foot driveway. My back says about 5 inches in Floyd County.

Believe me, I wasn't calling you out. I was over on Belski's blog where he was posting all those high snow totals while at the very same time Christie Dutton was posting the official total at the airport which was much lower. I just found it ironic.

    Re: Snow

I am real tired of the snow. The ol' police car slid off the drive and got hung up and now she is in the shop for a bit. First time in 12 years that I have such a problem with the ol' cruiser getting to work. Such is life come on spring. I need to hit the water.

Belski run down the numbers last night on the evening news. He gave the same thing as Christie for the airport total.

We got another close to two inches at my house last night and it's till snowing lightly. Now they are saying another one this weekend and next Monday, my back can't take much more. I'm seriously ready to move out west, my wife better get on board because if this becomes the Norm around here my ass is gone.

Just finished the sidewalk at the shop. Snow drifts were up to Maxx's frank and beans.
He hopped like a rabbit through that stuff.

    Re: Snow

Well it has finally stopped here in Oldham County.

Crestwood, Buckner, and Goshen all tallied in with a 10 inch total. We got the snow boys.

    Re: Snow

They say 5" officially here in Lexington, but I think that's a stretch. I know I always sound like I'm downplaying the snow, but you can pretty much still see the tops of the grass in most yards except for the drifts. Maybe the drifts eat up that much of the now, but it definitely doesn't look like any more than 5" to me.
