I know of no rules against doing your homework before the tournament, not during any offlimits.

check these results and see if they caught em good. Less than 12 lbs. per day to win and just over 8 lbs. per day for second. In May during the spawn.

Doing homework is fine as long as they don't have help from others such as locals.
some of the rules to help you refresh your memory.
"3. PRACTICE AND COMPETITION:
(i) There will be no off-limits period for any tournament unless specified by the Tournament Director. Special off limits and practice periods for the Bassmaster Classic, the BASS Federation Nation Championship or the Bassmaster Junior World Championship will be announced by BASS. (ii) There will be an official practice period immediately prior to the first day of competition. The exact dates and times of the practice period must be obtained from the BASS Federation Nation Department. The competitor must know and observe these dates and unless otherwise specified, all times are time zone specific to the local community. During practice and competition a competitor can only have the assistance or advice of another competitor for the purposes of locating or catching bass on tournament waters. Competitors may only fish with other competitors during official practice and competition. Flying over tournament waters during competition is not allowed. (iii) Testing of engines after the weigh-in is only allowed with permission from the Tournament Director. No exceptions. During the official practice and during the tournament, a competitor may not "SKIN DIVE" or "SCUBA DIVE" in the tournament waters. (iv) No competitor may buy or barter a fishing location from any other competitor for use during any competition day. (v) During the official competition days of the tournament, a competitor may not use a CB radio, a VHF marine-band radio, a cellular phone, or any other type of communication device for the purpose of locating or catching fish. Competitors are permitted to transmit by radio or telephone only in the event of an emergency. Cell phones cannot be used until fish have been weighed. If so equipped, competitors may listen to the marine-band weather information. (vi) A designated tournament official must be granted access to the competitor's boat at any time during the official practice or competition days. Failure to grant such access may result in immediate disqualification. (vii) Each competitor agrees to report to the Tournament Director any violation or infraction of any Tournament Rules. Failure to report violations or suggestions to another competitor that they violate these Rules or false verification of weigh-in forms will be cause for disqualification.
By his/her signature on the official tournament entry form, each competitor agrees to submit to a polygraph examination and abide by its conclusion should he/she be accused of any rule violation. The BASS Tournament Director or rules committee or such person designated by the Tournament Director shall have the discretion to determine the need for a polygraph examination. The BASS Tournament Director or his/her designee shall be responsible for selecting an independent expert to administer and interpret the results and establishing, in consultation with the expert administrator, the scope of the questions which may be asked during the polygraph examination. The BASS Tournament Director or his/her designee shall attempt to have the location of such polygraph examination as close in proximity to the angler's permanent address or such other mutually convenient location as possible. The competitor shall make himself/herself available at the location selected by the Tournament Director and shall cooperate in all respects with such examination"
Congrats KVD, he's one of the greatest, if not the greatest athelete out there today. KVD doesn't like to be compared to Tiger Woods, by the way, as he's too much of a family man, etc., to want to be lumped with that individual. Looking forward to Classic coverage in the following months as there sure was very little of it during the Classic itself, way too much yappin and carryin on, show us the fishing or at least some of it. Play by Play isn't supposed to be verbal, its supposed to have at least a few minutes of what the sports about.
idbefishin,
Do you really think that these guys don't get any advise from locals before the offlimits starts?
Zona says he talked w/KVD 3 months ago. KVD told him where, how, and what he was going to catch the fish on as long as it stayed cold. Zona said the plan KVD told him and the way he fished the tounament was exactly the same.
I would like to see them fish cedar creek!!! In the summer there are 150-200 boats on the water every weekend! I know its small, but the bass are BIG! Ive n doubt they could smoke me but, ive had some hugh sacks 1 day and blank for a week!!!! The weather in KY is CRAZY!!!! JMO
I know for sure they get help as one of my buddies would get phone calls from one of the Pro's when the tourny was in Kentucky. As long as they follow the rules I'm cool with it but to be fair the fish still have to bite and the guys still have to deal with changing conditions.
I hope no one really believes any different....
I hope that they do follow the rules being the professional that they are. If they don't? then lie detector test needs to be done more often.
It was a three day tourney and it was only on Herrington for 4 hours one day. The next day they were on Guist Creek and the third day on Taylorsville. Trust me, six pounds did not win the tourney, heck Zell Rowland caught a 6 pounder at taylorsville the final day!
