anybody post about Reelfoot Lake anymore ?
Guess not, I know the week we are going, they are having the crappie masters tourney. I'll let ya know how we do, as of right now the forecast looks great.
My buddies and I are thinking about taking a trip to Reelfoot this spring. None of us have ever been there. Can you guys give some reccomendations for where to stay preferably as close to the lake as possible, who has the best boat rental, accomodations, best time to go, etc...Thanks.
Stay at Eagles Nest Resort. They have great cabins and the boat comes with the fee. All you need is an ancor and a trolling motor, free ice and bait everyday . we stay around the corner at Reelfoot Inn, but we take our own boats.
Just got back, and the crappie bite is excellent right now. Tons of fish being caught in the deeper part of the lake. Caught a few just under 2 lbs. lake was packed.
we are heading down 3-11-10 till sun. Hope we both get into them, good luckpost when you get back. ill be the one in the Illinois jacket...lol ORANGE AND BLUE through and through.
Fish off Green island point!!
The crappie and bluegill are on the trees and the pads right now. We caught some really good specs the other day in Kirby's Pocket and Simon's.
Would love to be there now, I'd say they are pretty thick in the cypress trees. I may be coming back down at the end of May to chase some bluegill.
Panfish...give a shout if ya comin down.
Is this lake any good for bass fishin?
WR,
You can catch some really good bass on Reelfoot...it is not uncommon for you to catch a 4-lber. Earlier this year at a tourney there was several 6 & 7-lbers caught. They are also really colorful...dark green.
