ELNUT Update

Elwood is currently in ICU due to some respiratory complications yesterday afternoon, but conditions are slowly improving. He is weak, and not able to stand for long or walk very far, but his spirits are good, and he is focused on a plan for being better prepared for discharge this time. His wounds are healing, hernias have been repaired, and opening at the bottom of his pouch(stomach) has been ballooned. Doctors plan on repeat balloonings to keep the opening stretched so that he can eat. Feeding tube is still in place, and will be until the opening is permanently stretched. The feeding tube is the safety net for now. He has been able to eat minimally - a breakfast burrito or two, sunflower seeds, and some candy. thank you all for your concern and prayers for Elwood...Sincerely, Mrs. Elnutsmalljaws

Thanks so much for the update Mrs Elnut. We sure do appreciate it. Sorry to hear he is in ICU but you are sounding positive that this surgery has made gains which is great. I talked to him yesterday afternoon and he told me in full detail what had happened. One of his lungs collapsed....for what ever reason in unknown...
