    USA Bassin classic

Anybody gearing up for the classic at Ky. lake this year? This will be my first year fishing the classic and also my first trip to Ky. lake. Me and my partner are going down 3 days before the start to prefish and hopefully learn our way around down there so we don't tear up my boat. Anybody else going or have any suggestions on what areas to concentrate on. We will be staying at KenBar Lodge close to where the classic will be held.

I'm not fishing it but I read on their site that the classic has 500 boats? that's not right is it? also, the site doesn't say what the payout is for the division tourny or the regional?

I think thats the number of people that qualified. More than half wont make the trip. I think less than 100 have signed up so far. I'm not fishin it either, i wish. I Didnt fish enough tourneys with those guys last year to even qualifty for regionals. Maybe one day tho, Goodluck!

All you really have to do in this series to make the regional is fish five tourneys and catch one keeper in each. You get no less than 50 pts. if you catch a keeper, 50 x 5= 250, which is what it takes to qualify. Plus, you can fish any division and it goes towards your point total!

Actually, you have to accumulate 250 points in divisions to fish a regional. You then qualify for the Classic by fishing in a regional and finishing in the top 40%. Not as easy as it sounds........

Thats exactly what I said fella....250 pts to qualify for regional...not that hard to catch one keeper in five tourneys. The regional at Patoka was tough....we were one of only five teams to have a limit. And it wasn't 40%....it was the top 40 out of 145 teams.

That's funny............I have a USA BASSIN Director's Handbook right here in front of me and it states that "The top 40% of each Regional Tournament will advance on to the the USA Bassin Classic............". Since I am a director, I referred to my manual -- and that is what it states. I can email it to you if you like.

I am The Regional Director and it is 40 Boats not 40% it has not been except 1 time. You need to go to the Director side and print out the New section. The Regional we had at Rough River we had 98 boats 1st $6000.00 and we paid 9 places total and 2 Big Fish. If have any Questions anyone you can give me a call John Newton 270 535-5774 Thanks

I was citing information from, I guess, an old handbook? The one I have was given to me, but must be outdated. Didn't even know there was a new one. I'll check into getting the most current one.........assistant directors must not get the new ones.

My fault lroberts, I was wrong. Bad representation on my part.........

Thats OK....I was wrong about the points for each tourney....you do get 50 pts. just for showing up! Either way, I enjoy these tourneys and can't wait for the year to start!

What divisions are you guys fishing this year? With the work schedule that me and my partner have the only ones that we are off for everyone tourney in the division is Taylorsville, so we will be doing them. We fished the Warsaw division last year and would really like to fish it again this year but we both will be working on most of those dates. Hope to see most of you guys there.

I fish the Monroe circuit in Indiana.....may do one of the West Boggs or Patoka in Indiana this year also. Boggs can be lights out for BIG bass early in the year. 20 lbs. didn't get a check a couple times last year!!!!
