We were getting out one way or another today. My buddy wanted to head down to Caney Creek and fish off the dock so we did that for a while. Couldn't buy a bite so we went down to lock 7. First cast with a chart. jig and minnow caught a pound and a half sauger. After that it was hang up after hang up. Fish seemed to be within 10 feet of the bank on the drop off. I missed several bites due to having thrown my back out yesterday and couldn't get a good hook set (I know, excuses, excuses). We fished until close to dark and the bite never happened like I thought it would. The river looks great but it probably needs some color for the bite to turn on.
