    Fishing Honeymoon?

Anyone know a great place to go for a fishing honeymoon? Looking for a place to go for 3-5 days with activities, great food, good fishing, and nice enough for a good get away honeymoon. Thanks

First of all, congratulations on finding a gem of a woman! Next, it all depends on your fishing style (trout streams, bass lakes, saltwater, guide, no guide) and budget. If money and time off was no object, I'd love a fly trip to Jackson Hole WY, a saltwater trip to Sanibel Island FL, or a bass trip to south California or Mexico, but KY Lake, Dale Hollow and Cumberland stack up pretty well also. Most important, best wishes to both of you!

Wanting to stay close on a budget and try to stay in KY. Looked at Green Turtle Bay and Light House Landing. They both seem to be nice.

    Thumbs up Re: Fishing Honeymoon?

What time of year are you planning your honeymoon? If you're willing to drive 7-8 hours I'd suggest Shenandoah River in Virginia. Look around the Luray and/or Front Royal area. This area is absolutely beautiful and the river is lllllllllloaded with smallies! Rent a canoe through www.downriver.com and have fun catching lots of fish. You can do 3-6 mile trips or longer. Any time June - September should be good. There's also lots of great hiking in the area (Google Sky Line Drive Virginia for more info...). You can also check out Luray Caverns if the weather doesn't cooperate.

Do this trip right with your wife and you'll have a great time!

You'll have to give us more info.

Are you guys outdoorsy folk? Are you wanting plush accommodations or adventure?

    Where are you in KY?

Sounds like you have hooked up on a KEEPER, but not quite boated her yet. Keep the line tight and work her slowly to the boat, then a gentle lift and soothing kiss! Should make a great photo shot.

    BEST TO THE NEW COUPLE!!!

I got a feeling Turkey's not floating $4k for a Ray Scott fishing adventure. What a joke! 2 could go to El Salto or Hawaii for that kind of dough.

IMHO your being tested here. Don't fall for it. Tell her this is a special time and you'd rather spend it with her. Believe me it'll pay off in the long run. Think big picture here.

    Re: Fishing Honeymoon?

Listen to the man above, he KNOWS what he is talking about when he says "its a test". I thought the same way as you Turkey, for the 13 years it lasted, and when she would say the things like "can I go", "sure I don't mind at all", "how was the tournament", "did you all catch many fish", ect. I know realize that was "woman" for you stupid sob I can't believe you did that/this/again/ect. IMO you should take his advice and tell her how great that sounds but you would rather do something "sweet and romantic" so you can spend more time together during your honeymoon!! But hey, I may be wrong and you might have that one in 100,000,000 that actually MEANS what she SAYS!! Either way, best of luck to you both and best wishes to you all for many happy years together!!!

    Rob
