Not in all cases Mark...sometimes people who've been convicted of such crimes never see the HARD life you're referencing. I guess it depends on the severity of the crime as to whether or not someone is thrown in with the general population or not.

Actually, it can be done. It takes the insertion of a few pieces of lead, at a high velocity: two in the chest and one in the head. They are now rehabilitated and will never harm anyone again.

Agree, good rant. Scary when you check those sites and see how many offenders are located close to schools.

True, but if they are in general population and the word gets out and ususally the guards see to that, they got some tough love coming, I've heard some stories from guys that work up there that are just.............well I'll stop now, Whooo.

I completely AGREE with this............BUT I have some problems.

The Sex Offender Registry should have some type of rating system also. A hardened Pedofile, CHILD Rapist, or Kidnapper is a far cry from the 17 year old pimply teenager who has sex with his 15 or 16 yr old girlfriend or boyfriend. But you know what, they are SEX OFFENDERS, and in lots of cases, registered.

I also have a problem with all the date rape cases that end up being rape cases, and the guy or girl is convicted because the "victim" had a change of heart.

Don't label me some crazy freak about this, but there are tons of cases out there where guys and girls are serving time because some DRUNK person doesn't like the outcome of their foolish passed out Drunkedness.

I have a REAL GOOD friend from college who spent 8 years in prison on a rape charge due to this exact example.

SHE was all over him all night. They both passed out, they both went past 3rd base, and Beyond. A few days later, she changed her story, said she said "No". A CRAZY Man-Hater Lawyer, and CRAZIER Man Hater Judge threw this kid in prison. It could have been any one of us.

    Later,

    Geo

    Re: Victims

I agree that there are problems with the current system besides the major fact we are letting them go back out into society. Predators should be handled far more severe than all the rest of the violators. If they are going to insist on releasing these monsters then they should all have tracking chips inserted where everyone could see exactly where they are and where they have been. Instead we are allowing them to blend in somewhere near unsuspecting victims and asking them to register on their own wherever they go.
It could also aid in finding who is involved in many disappearances and murders of our children and perhaps help locate our children in time to save their lives. These guys do get caught but how many times do they get away with crimes beforehand? I would say it would boggle the mind if we actually knew.
